We have KCSIE and Enhanced DBS checked school caretakers, premises officers and site managers available to support schools across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. We provide both agency supply site staff and permanent Site Manager and Caretaker recruitment services. 

We recruit mature people with strong transferable skills and life experience who are very well suited to working within school site teams. These include outstanding communication skills, the ability to think on their feet to solve problems and great practical skills.

Many of our candidates have backgrounds in the emergency services, British military, engineering and trades, amongst many others. We look for people who really want to help in their local community and who want to make a difference to the schools they are supporting.

In addition to school’s DfE Keeping Children Safe in Education vetting requirements, all new candidates undergo a rigorous selection process to ensure their suitability to working as school site staff. They are individually interviewed by our Vetting & Safeguarding Specialists, who are all retired career police officers with a lifetime experience interviewing and a deep understanding of our responsibility to safeguard children at the schools we support.

With our pool of over 4,500 people we can cover the whole UK and operatives usually live within 20 minutes of schools they are supporting.

TIB Caretakers

TIB Services Ltd was founded as ‘Trust in Blue’ in 2013 by Nick Orde-Powlett. The company piloted with a team of retired police officers in South London before expanding across the UK.

Initially TIB mainly worked with care home groups and sheltered housing providers to maintain the homes of vulnerable adults. During the pandemic, when care home maintenance was put on hold, TIB pivotted their team of trusted mature workers to provide essential support to schools whose site staff were absent. 

Since 2020 the company has built a solid reputation as the only specialist school estates recruiter in the UK, successfully building supplier relationships with over 1,000 schools and trusts. 

We have two candidate pools; a site staff team and a maintenance team. 

Our maintenance team is comprised of qualified tradespeople, general maintenance operatives and decorators, all with prior commercial maintenance experience.

Our site staff team is made up of individuals who are competent and confident DIYers able to assist with everyday light maintenance. Many of our qualified tradespeople also enjoy supporting schools with agency caretaking and site support.
